Desist from evil deeds, Museveni tells Ugandans

President Museveni has advised Ugandans especially the young people to desist from all forms of evil deeds wondering whether people who altered results during NRM primaries really believe in God.

He made the remarks while hosting the 22nd National Prayer Breakfast ceremony on Thursday at State House Entebbe.

"Impatience is a spirit of Satan. Our youth from the ghettos told me they want 'ekigwirawo'. I told them they are very dangerous,"said Museveni.

Museveni said It is important for people to know that the wage of sin is death and the wage of righteousness is being blessed.

"If I'm not convinced, I will not do it because first of all I'm not working for anybody but someone else, a higher authority. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,"he said.

" I have seen that if you avoid evil, you get blessings even though you are in very difficult situations. When we were fighting (NRA), we had big capacity to kill. Somehow, I never liked the idea of killing as a short cut,"he added.

Museveni also praised the First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni for Uganda's recent success in sports.

The president attributed it to her prayers.

Janet Museveni also prayed for the safe reopening of learning institutions and for athlete Joshua Cheptegei who broke another world record in 10,000 metres.

"I want us to congratulate our son Joshua Cheptegei who broke another world record. He has done us proud in this Covid-19 period. Cheptegei is making Uganda a household name. It is God using him to do that, and we thank God,"she said.
