"Bobi Wine is now a lucrative business" - says NUP's Rubongoya

The Secretary General of the National Unity Platform (NUP), David Lewis Rubongoya has said that their party's principal, Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu alias Bobi Wine, has been turned into a lucrative business.

A number of NUP members have recently turned against the party and declared allegiance to the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) citing a number of factors.

Veteran current affairs analyst Basajja Mivule, promoter Andrew Mukasa commonly known as Bajjo are among the latest members to switch political camps.

While commenting on these recent defections on a Thursday morning TV show, Rubongoya said that this is something they have learnt to live with, because the party's principal is a 'hot-cake'.

He said that NUP's principal and Kyadondo Each legislator Kyagulanyi is a very lucrative business in the country.

"We have seen many come, take pictures with him and use them to trick the State into 'buying' them but we know them and we don't care," Rubongoya said.

Last week, following his appearance on NBS Television's Barometer political show, events promoter Balaam Barugahare also warned Bobi Wine that he has footage of at least 11 members of the National Unity Platform, signing for money at the Entebbe State House.

Balaam, in an interview with the NBS UNCUT said that, "I want to warn my 'brother' Bobi Wine. If he handles me properly, I can show him the videos."

A number of political analysts have also warned the politician-cum-singer to be careful with who he allows to be near him.
