How man dressed as woman carrying human head tried to enter parliament

At around 11:30am on Monday morning, an unidentified ‘woman’ approached the Eastern gate of the parliamentary building opposite the National Theatre in a bid to access the August House.

The ‘woman’ told police officers manning the entrance that ‘she’ had brought a “special” gift to the Speaker of Parliament Rebecca Kadaga.

Following the revelation, security officers got skeptical about the appearance of the ‘lady’ who had brought a gift to the speaker and became cautious and asked ‘her’ to open the gift for them to clearly check it before allowing ‘her’ proceed with ‘her’ journey.

Meanwhile, the messenger didn’t hesitate and allowed to be checked, as well as the special gift ‘she’ had brought for the speaker.

It was during the checking that it was found out that the unidentified person was a man and not a woman as they had earlier thought, courtesy of her dress code.

The thorough screening also saw the Police officers at parliament find out that the man was carrying in a box a human head wrapped in a box.

Interrogation begins

Following the “unveiling” of the special gift that later turned out to be a human head, security started interrogating the man behind the same and he narrated his story.

Identified as Joseph Nuwashaba, 22 years, the man told security that he is a born of Bushenyi and that while moving to Kampala, he was intercepted by two men in Masaka who gave him the gift box and asked him to deliver it to the Speaker of Parliament.

However, according to sources the brevity that the suspect showed while approaching the entrance to the August House and the confidence while being asked to open the gift box showed that he knew what he was doing.

The suspect was later detained at the CID headquarters in Kibuli for further interrogation.

New details

However, according to new details that the Nile Post has got, the suspect, Joseph Nuwashaba was early this year allowed to stay with the family of one Charles Ssenyonga, a born again pastor in Kyabakuza division in Masaka city.

“Because he didn’t have where to stay and it was during the time of lockdown, Pastor Ssenyonga allowed him stay with the family and has been helping them out as a casual labourer,” a source in Masaka told this website.

According to the source, on Sunday evening, Nuwashaba asked one of the pastor’s kids to escort him somewhere and since then they have not heard from him.

“Later after a search, a headless body that was later confirmed to be of Ssenyonga’s daughter identified as Faith Kyamagero was found dumped near the National Water and Sewerage Corporation Treatment Plant dump site in Masaka city.”

On Monday, as Ssenyonga’s family prepared to bury the headless body of his daughter, they were astonished to see photos of a head that looked like their own at Parliament.

It is said that by a mere look at the face, the family was able to recognize the head as that of their child and the burial ceremony was halted.

However, police insisted that they could not confirm whether it was the head of Ssenyonga’s daughter until a DNA test is carried out.

Police speak out

According to the CID spokesperson, Charles Twino Mansio, the suspect is a resident of Kizinda- Bushenyi- Ishaka municipality in Bushenyi district.

“In a related development Police in Masaka received a report of murder of unknown seaming kid that was headless (torso) in Kijabweni,” Twino said.

He noted that as part of their investigations medical experts will check for the DNA of both parts to find out whether they are related, before the suspect is charged with murder.
