Making the Pilau Rice
In a large saucepan, heat cooking oil and add the onions until they brown. Add the cubed beef and fry until it is well browned. The darker these ingredients, the darker your pilau rice.
Add 2 cups of water and cover, let the beef boil until the water dries out.
Add the pilau Masala, the dry mix of spices and the ginger garlic paste and sautee the beef.
Add salt and tomatoes, stir well, add your potatoes then add rice. The amount of water should be double the amount of the rice used. For example, 2 cups of rice, you will use 4 cups of water.
Cover your sauce pan let cook on very low heat, to avoid sticking on the bottom and drying out before the rice is cooked.
After 10 minutes of cooking, add the sliced carrot and let simmer for another 15 minutes.
When the rice is cooked, add in the freshly chopped coriander leaves, and gently fluff the beef pilau rice from bottom to top.
