Komugisha, Alunga win Stanbic Bank Mug of Mugs

Judith Komugisha and Michael Alunga won 2019 Stanbic Mug of Mugs played over the weekend at Uganda Golf Club.

Komugisha and Alunga returned 34 and 38 points respectively.

Handicap 10, Komugisha managed to get 7 pars, a double bogey and several bogeys to win ladies category.

Komugisha registered a number of victories in 2019 including the recently concluded Cross Country Championship at Uganda Golf Club.

According to Komugisha winning the Mug of Mugs is an indication that she has worked hard this year in the game of golf.

“I have won a couple of trophies this year and I am happy to get this in my early age of golf,” Komugisha said.

Michael Alunga, the winner in the men's category said despite playing in fewer Mug of Mugs tournaments he was happy that he won.

“I have not played very many mugs but I am happy to have won this year’s trophy,” Alunga said.

Stanbic Bank Uganda was the main sponsor of the ‘Month of Mugs’ golf tournament which has been running since February 2019.

According to Grace Muliisa the head of business banking at Stanbic Bank, they decided to sponsor the Mug of Mugs since golf is a game of passion.

“We have done this for the last two years and one of the commitments I announce today is that we will sponsor the Mug of Mugs in 2020," Muliisa said.
