Senior Presidential Press Secretary, Don Wanyama has said that the anti-corruption walk is an international celebration that was localized.
Wanyama said that the walk against corruption has been happening in Uganda and the only new thing this year is that the president asked to join in the walk.

Wanyama made his remarks while appearing on NBS TV's Morning Breeze show.
"This is an international celebration that has been localized. The walk against corruption has been happening here and this is not the first time. The only new thing is that the president asked to join the walk this time," Wanyama said in part.
Wanyama also noted that the president has always been hard against corruption and one of the reasons for his walking this time is to highlight the success stories that have been registered in the struggle against the vice.
"For those that have been following the president keenly, he has made public announcements against corruption. Many laws and institutions against corruption are a brainchild of the president," he added.
Wanyama encouraged the public to listen 'keenly' to what the president says in Kololo because he will highlight the gains and challenges that he has faced so far.
He said that since corruption as a vice is evolving, the president has to keep changing the ways in which he fights it as well.
