Besigye asks religious leaders to join the struggle of liberating Uganda

Former FDC president Dr. Kizza Besigye has tasked religious leaders to join the fight of liberating the country from what he described as “captivity” by sensitizating Ugandans on how to free themselves.

Besigye urged religious leaders to come out boldly and play their role in liberation struggle of this country by talking about issues affecting Ugandans.

He made the remarks while attending Jummah and Duwa prayers at Masjid Hanan Al Mutweiry Malwa Mosque in Busujju, Mityana district.

He said religious leaders should tell Ugandans that everyone is equal before the almighty God irrespective of their sizes, wealth, colours ,tribes among others.

He said he has been telling the people of Ugandans that they deserve fairness, equal rights and opportunity in their country.

“Before God, we are all equal and “therefore there is no reason why we should live in a country that serves few people and the majority are helpless,”he said.

He noted that the main reason why God created human beings is to worship him but also to exhibit equality among themselves.

“Don’t be deceived that you can get peace and freedom without equal rights and fairness, it is impossible therefore we need equal rights and freedoms,”he said.

Besigye said that he is not fighting a political war but he is fight hard to liberating Uganda from the state of captivity.

“We are not fighting a political war in this country. We have not reached that level of fight a political war but we are captives in our own country so we are fighting for equal rights and to free ourselves,”he said.

‘People’s Government’ led by Besigye was invited by Imams and Muslims of Kakindu Mosque to appreciate their efforts in the struggle and also pray and intercede for them to fight on with courage and commitment.

Busujju County Sheikh Muhammad Kagimu said the struggle for good governance is everyone’s duty stressing that Allah always honours efforts of those who never give up.
