Police impounds bombs, bullet shells from Jinja factory

Police in Jinja yesterday impounded unexploded bombs, 20 sacks of bullet shells and a number live ammunition during a security operation at Steel Rolling Mills located in Walukuba/Masese Division.

Kiira region police spokesperson Diana Nandaula revealed that preliminary information indicates that they were supplied as scrap to the factory.

The factory, which is located in Walukuba/Masese Division Jinja district, was cordoned off by security operatives.

Nandaula has revealed that they found a number unexploded bombs, several rounds of live ammunition and 20 sacks full of bullet shells.

The sacks of bullet shells were packed on police vehicle and were taken to CPS Jinja though the explosives were left at the scene under the watchful eyes of Police.

A number of employees were arrested to help police in the investigation.

Eric Sakwa the Resident District Commissioner of Jinja linked the live ammunition to the latest spate of criminality in the district.
