Centenary Bank launches eight weeks’ customer reward promotion

Centenary Bank, Uganda’s largest commercial Microfinance bank, this week  launched a customer centric reward promo dubbed “Cente Christmas.”

The eight-week long campaign that was launched at Capital Shoppers, Ntinda is tailored towards encouraging the bank’s customers to embrace the use of alternative banking channels that are digitally-driven.

Speaking at the launch ceremony, Beatrice Lugalambi, the General Manager Corporate Communications and Marketing, Centenary Bank said the bank currently has the biggest agent banking network with close to 4,000 agents countrywide.

“Our customers have the opportunity to bank in their neighbourhoods during this festive season and be rewarded on top of enjoying the convenience it brings,” she said,

She said last year the bank rolled out the Visa Debit card to enable customers to carry out cashless transactions in a more secure environment and today they have more than 870,000 users.

“Our bank has made several enhancements and upgrades on the CenteMobile banking platform thus you our customers can now pay URA taxes using the CenteMobile and also use the MasterPass QR Code to pay for goods and services at various merchants and you will be rewarded for these transactions," she said.

These channels are meant to help minimize the need for customers to travel long distances to access services, since a good number of them live in the rural areas.

Other benefits that customers can enjoy are saving on their valuable time and transport costs as well as the convenience of transacting anytime, anywhere.

Immaculate Ngulumi, the Chief Manager Marketing and Branding explained that the Cente Christmas campaign will focus on promoting usage of three alternative channels namely; CenteAgent, CenteMobile and CenteVisa.

“Customers who transact a minimum of three times weekly using any of these channels will be rewarded with millions in cash, gift baskets and shopping bonanzas,” Ngulumi said.

The promotion is set to run for 8 weeks, during which period customers will be rewarded for transacting using CenteVisa, CenteAgents and CenteMobile.

The prizes are categorised into three tiers and will be awarded at the weekly draws held every Friday.
