'Bobi Wine was nothing until he met me,' claims Bebe Cool

Musician Moses Ssali commonly known as Bebe Cool has claimed that he is the one who made Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine.

Bebe Cool said that he lived in the ghettos of Kamwokya long before Bobi Wine and went ahead to create the Firebase Entertainment Group currently owned by Bobi Wine.

Bebe Cool made these remarks while appearing on NBS Television's Morning Breeze on Wednesday morning.

"I’m the maker of Bobi Wine in the Ghetto. I lived in Kamwokya and Kanyanya. All my life, I walked from Kanyanya to Mawanda road to Kitante," Bebe Cool said.

Bebe Cool added that he created Firebase Entertainment crew to fight their then common "enemy", musician Joseph Mayanja also known as Chameleone.

He said that he grew up in the ghetto only that he doesn't behave like them.

"I created a group called Firebase that was intended to fight Chameleone. I have grown up in the ghetto, only that I don’t behave like them. Just because I’m the son of Bidandi doesn’t mean he fathered me. I grew up with a single mother," he added.

Asked who musician Bobi Wine is to him, Bebe Cool said that his nemesis Bobi Wine is just a young man who is trying out his luck. Bebe said that he is even surprised that people are making his creation this important.

On Buchaman's appointment

Bebe Cool said that he doesn't have a problem with President Museveni's appointment of musician Mark Bugembe alias Buchaman in the position of presidential advisor.

He said that no one can represent the people in the ghetto like Buchaman but added that no one should think that Buchaman is more popular that him.

"I may be quiet but Buchaman isn’t more popular than me. Make no mistake. That’s why you invited me and not him. I can speak like an intellectual for people who live in Kololo as well as for those who sleep in the ghetto. I single-handedly brought Buchaman to Kampala and recruited him to the Firebase Crew," said Bebe Cool.
