I am ceasing attacks on Muzaata after being advised by State House - Kenzo

Singer Edirisa Kenzo has said he has been advised by a number of "elders" including State House officials to stop any hostilities against Kibuli Muslim sect spokesperson, Sheikh Nuuhu Muzaata.

While speaking at Rema Namakula’s private visit(Kukyala) function a few weeks ago, Muzaata allegedly accused Kenzo of being gay and that he asked him to go marry his dead mother, a gesture that displeased the ‘Sitya Loss’’ singer.

The singer has since launched a number of attacks using his social media against the Kibuli sect spokesperson.

However, on Thursday, Kenzo said he had been advised by some officials from State House to cease attacks against Muzaata for the good of the country.

“State House advised me to cease fire. I have been advised that there are his enemies who might use this opportunity to kill him and put it on me. He might die and I am imprisoned over something I don’t know. I was advised to cease fire,”Kenzo said during a live chat on his social media account.

"They said I might get hurt by Sheikh Muzaata's enemies and put it on him so he can be sent to jail. The advice was given to me by experts from State House, religious leaders and other elders."

The singer had earlier this week advised his supporters to join him next week as he protests in front of Kibuli mosque to force Sheikh Muzaata retract his statements but on Thursday he said everything has been halted after advice from leaders.

“It was only a tactic but we were not going to Kibuli. Our plan was going to his home so as to hoodwink them. I have been given advice to cease fire by many people. I ask my fans to cease fire. Even those who were planning to move from wherever should cease-fire.”

The ‘Sitya Loss’ singer said he had also been approached by the Buganda Katikkiro, Charles Peter Mayiga, Supreme Mufti, Sheikh Kasule Ndirangwa, Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi also known as Bobi Wine, State Minister for Ethics, Fr. Simon Lokodo and a few other opinion leaders.

He added that efforts are in place to see that both camps reach a gentleman’s agreement that will ensure total cease-fire.

"Cease fire because we have to respect advice from elders but I ask my fellow youth never to be bullies."

Since rumours about the love affair between Rema Namakula and his new lover Hamza Ssebunya started circulating, it has not been rosy for Kenzo who has been mocked by many for ignoring her, prompting Rema to hook a new catch.

A few weeks ago, social media was awash with photos of Rema with her new lover as the two held a private visit (kukyala) to Namakula’s parents, a gesture that displeased Kenzo.

Early this week, Kenzo said his woes are orchestrated by some people he described as mafia in government with a sole aim of killing him.

“These people want to kill me so we can reach 2021 when I can’t say anything. They pay for my music not to be played. They have also bought some people to abuse me for nothing,”Kenzo said.

“Many people have been hiding behind my family problems to ensure they bring me down. It is beyond her (Rema) and me but unfortunately, she is not aware that there are people behind all this. They were given money to pretend to be relatives to her(Rema) husband to frustrate me and later poison me so it can be reported that I committed suicide. They want to poison me.”

Following a successful private visit(kukyala) to Rema Namkula’s parents two weeks ago, Hamza Ssebunya is to be introduced on November 14, 2019 at Rema’s parents’ home somewhere in Masaka.

Kenzo on Thursday insisted that he is wishing good for Rema and her new husband in their relationship.
