Sudhir inspires taxpayers to 1:0 victory over URA

It was supposed to be a hard fought game between the tax collectors and tax payers. And indeed it was.

Tax payers yesterday condemned Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to defeat at the URA Tax Derby played at the Legends Rugby Club, Lugogo.

Businessman and philanthropist Sudhir Ruparelia inspired the taxpayers putting in a man of the match performance. Sudhir was the captain of the taxpayers.

The winning goal was scored by Mark Ssali, the head of communications at Uganda National Roads Authority.

URA was captained by Doris Akol, the commissioner general who started out in goal. She was later substituted and replaced by Protazio Begumisa, the commissioner for Internal Audit and Compliance.

David Bahati, the minister of state for Finance handed over the trophy to Sudhir setting off jubilations.

The proceeds from the match will go towards buying a boat for pupils of Bwama Primary School in Kabale who have to cross Lake Bunyonyi daily on their way to school.
