President Museveni has officially registered as a member of the Uganda Musicians Association, making him a fully gazette local musician.
Museveni paid membership fees, of Shs50,000 to the association, according to the receipt which was handed to events promoter and Museveni supporter Balaam Barugahara at Kololo yesterday.
The president just last month announced he was setting up a studio for local artistes to record their songs for as low as Shs10,000. Nile Post understands that the studio is already functional and located along Masaka road.
Museveni who himself has sung a number of songs including famous campaign hit ‘another rap’ is also reportedly expected to launch an album which will feature other songs he is currently recording.
The album launch according to sources close to the president is scheduled towards the end of next year and will be used as a campaign tool.
President Museveni so far has about 3 songs to his name including; Kwezi, yengoma and another rap.
According to the Uganda Musicians Association, Museveni’s registration into the association is a good boost.
Meanwhile, by the registration of Museveni, it means that both Bobi Wine and President Museveni can meet when the association holds its meetings.
