Opinion: What could a President Bobi Wine cabinet look like?

Singer Winifred Nakanwagi alias Winnie Nwagi has been dragged to police by her house help for alleged assault.

The singer is said to have pounced on her maid and pummeled her for leaving home without notice and moreover returning late.

The fire dance singer was also infuriated by the fact that the maid had gone with her gym water bottle.

According to the maid identified as Scovia, Nwagi has been paying her Shs100,000 per month promptly, however her disrespect was beyond measure. Scovia says that the singer is feared by all neighbors for her manners, the reason no one came to rescue when she (Scovia) was being beaten

“She landed on me and started beating me, but everyone there fears her so they would hear me wail and call for help but no one came. Only one woman shouted from her house and said ‘Winnie you will kill the woman, please stop” Scovia narrated to Nile Post.

“Winnie has been paying me on time but her work is extreme, she comes with her celebrity friends who stay home for the whole week. During the time, I must wash all their clothes and cook for them, yet they dictate (with disrespect) the time the food should be ready,” Scovia added.

The maid also accused the singer and her colleagues of only smoking weed while directing her on what she should do. Following the assault, Nwagi’s maid dragged the matter to Kikaya police.

Kampala Metropolitan Police spokesperson Luke Oweyisigyire confirmed that the singer was reported to the police and she is facing charges of assault and malicious damage.

“We have not yet received a statement from the singer. We don’t know what led to the disagreement,” Owoyesiguire said.

Scovia also claims that she lost Shs200,000 in the scuffle while her phone and radio were broken by the singer.

“I want her to refund my money which got lost, plus she should pay my radio, phone and cover my medical expenses,” she said.

The singer when contacted allowed to have beaten her maid but maintained that she is not aware of the Shs200,000, and there is no way the maid would claim she was so injured from the beating.

“I know where and why I beat her, let her not confuse people,” she said.

Nwagi is back in the news from precisely the wrong reasons, she was recently called out for tantalizing schoolboys at St Mary’s Kisubi.
