Man kidnapped, beaten to death, body dumped at his home

Police in Kampala are investigating circumstances that led to the disappearance and alleged murder of William Mukasa, who was reported missing by his family last week.

According to Kampala Metropolitan Police, Mukasa was reported missing by his family a week ago, but his body was discovered dumped at his residence in Kawala, a Kampala suburb.

Police suspect that the deceased was clobbered by his captors, and he could have died due to severe beatings.

“Initial findings indicted that Mukasa was beaten, and could have died from his wounds. The police will continue investigating until we get the exact cause of death and those behind it,” Kampala Metropolitan deputy police spokesperson Luke Oweyesigyire said.

“His killers could have used rudimentary weapons like stones and sticks to kill him in order to disguise the crime,” he added.

Just recently, a on Simon Akena who went missing in Ntinda and Kisasi areas was discovered dead at the shores of Lake Victoria in Kitubulu-Katabi, Entebbe Municipality.

Last month, an NGO staff Maria Nagirinya Gateni was kidnapped outside her residence in Busega, together with her driver Ronald Kitayimbwa.

Their bodies were later recovered in Mukono meters away from each other.
