Naalya sauna owner arrested over neglect after explosion

The owner of the Naalya sauna that suffered an explosion on Sunday evening Martha Muhangi has been arrested.

Marcos Gym and Spa on the Naalya Namugongo road in Kira exploded on Sunday evening, leaving five people with injuries. The explosion happened at around 5:30pm.

Kampala Metropolitan Police deputy spokesman, Assistant Superintendent of Police Luke Owoyesigyire confirmed the arrest of the owner of the sauna. She stands to be accused of rash and negligence that led to the explosion.

Martha is currently held at Kira division police.
