Mantra Motorbike could redefine Uganda’s transport system with the launch of a fast, safe, durable and affordable motorcycles called Hero.
The motorcycles are solely distributed by a leading automotive dealer; Mantra Motorbike EA, which is part of AL Mansour Automotive group, which is one of the largest General Motors dealers with brands such as Chevrolet, GMC, Cadillac and AC Delco along with Opel, Peugeot, MG & Isuzu.
The four bikes launched are; the Dawn 100, Dawn 125, Dawn 150 TR and scooter Destini 125.
The motorcycles were introduced into the market at a refined cutting-edge event at the Mantra/Hero showroom located at Ghats Complex, 1st street Industrial area, opposite Uganda Management Institute (UMI) and later an exclusive dinner at the Kampala Serena hotel.
The event was graced by notable key players in the corporate space and reputable media houses around the country.
The motorcycle taxi industry is presently growing rapidly and therefore calls for motorcycles that are leading with innovation, performance and plush comfort; attributes the Hero bikes offer.
This makes them some of the most sought-after bikes on the market.
Operations have been ongoing for a couple of months with an assembly plant in Ntinda Industrial area, a sales outlet in Ndeeba, and the showroom/main offices on Jinja road.
The launch of a new motor bike brand could be a game changer especially in the commercial motor-cycle taxi industry commonly known as Boda Bodas, which are estimated to be about 100,000 within Kampala.
Mantra said Hero Motorcycles give longer mileage per litre of fuel compared to any other brand.
“The four newly launched bikes have different performance parameters, giving the end-user options that best suit their needs. The dawn 100 is pocket friendly; ideal for the local Boda Boda business, The dawn 125 is perfectly suited for rough street roads or hilly areas, the Destiny 125 scooter and the dawn 150 are your safest bet for office errands and delivery businesses. Not forgetting the style and look; the Hero bikes are the epitome of well-rounded machines,” said Mohamad Khadr Mantra Motorbike EA Limited general manager.
Apart from Kampala, Hero motorcycles are available in cities of Mbale, Arua and Isingiro, through the dealership network of Mantra Motorbike EA Limited and soon they will be available across the country.
