MP snapped enjoying comfortable sleep during parliament debate

A member of parliament was yesterday snapped snoozing away while fellow legislators went about with state business.

Unlike the usual nodding off by legislators during certain sessions and national events at parliament, this specific legislator was off, into slumberland.

The legislator identified as Ssentongo Robina Nakasirye, a woman Member of Parliament for Kyotera District, attached to the Democratic Party (DP), was seated next to Kalungu West County MP Joseph Ssewungu, who himself was busy on phone.

Ssewungu’s lack of company could have led the female member to take an opportunity to loll in the parliament seat and slip into a deep slumber.

In the end, the legislator missed the whole Tuesday session of parliament while she consulted with her voters through visions and dreams.

Ssentongo was sent to parliament with a resounding victory, garnering 21731 of the vote which was a representative of 50.53 percent. She beat four more competitors Joweriah Nabbaale (266 votes), Nakato Nassali of FDC (2224 votes), Nantogo Cissy (3272 votes),  and NRMs Nakitende Rachael (15511 votes)
