PICTORIAL: Wakiso Giants see off taxmen in four goal Uganda Premier League thriller
It was a game of two different halves at the Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium, the home of Wakiso Giants in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League on Tuesday evening.
Prior to the game, Uganda Revenue Authority Football Club was flying on cloud nine after winning their opening game of the season and didn’t disappoint in the first half at Wakissha.

Despite the hosts taking the lead inside two minutes with a Tom Masiko strike off a loose ball, the taxmen dictated play and seven minutes later they drew level through a Said Kyeyune header.
The tax collectors continued the dominance that earned them a number of free-kicks but all of them and other chances created went to waste.
After recess, the Purple Sharks recollected themselves and introduced Karim Ndugwa who did wonders for them.
It was not long that Wakiso Giants dictated play at their own fortress spearheaded by Tom Masiko who manned the midfield well.
The dominance paid off in the 74th minute when a Vianney Ssekajugo shot was received well by Ndugwa who made no mistake but put it behind the net for the Purple Sharks to take the lead and six minutes later, they took the game beyond reach.
A Benjamin Nyakoko schoolboy mistake that saw him kick the ball back to the goalkeeper was punished when Ndugwa hijacked the ball to fire past the Nathan Alinyosi who was between the posts for URA FC for Wakiso Giants’ third goal.
The game ended 3-1 in favour of the hosts and ensured they won their first game of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.
Reaction
Speaking shortly after the game, Wakiso Giants coach Kefa Kisala praised his players for the character they showed throughout the game.
“We are still new babies in the league but we have managed to contain the situation after losing our first game(against KCCA FC) to win against URA FC,”Kisala said.
“This is a big statement to whoever comes at our stadium that we are not jokers.”
URA FC coach, Sam Ssimbwa conceded his team lost due to schoolboy mistakes by his defenders despite starting well.
“We were on top of the game when the game was still one all but we conceded two stupid goals. When we gave away such goals, the game was over,”Ssimbwa said.
Ssimbwa said the performance of his team on the day was so embarrassing but noted Wakiso Giants was a better side on the day.
“If you compare the team that beat Maroons (in the opening game) and the one which lost against Wakiso Giants you could be amazed. My defenders let me down because we have never conceded such stupid goals.
