Ugandan designer to showcase work at New York Fashion Week

A Ugandan-American fashion designer Sarah Nassali has been invited to showcase some of her work at New York Fashion Week. The Kyebando born designer will be among the designers whose work will be on display the September 2019 show.

The NY Fashion Week will take place at New York’s Hotel Pennsylvania located at 401 Seventh Avenue on the 33rdStreet New York City. The event will run from Friday, September 6, 2019 to Saturday, September 14, 2019.

Nassali designs

The designer was selected for her unique multicultural clothing line Nassali Wear which perfectly blends African fabrics and styles with American styles thus creating some of the finest quality fashion products.

Nassali’s keen eye for beauty and avant-grade fashion style remains her success driver and to her, humble beginnings in determination can offer a great inspiration to young girls around the world.

In an interview, Nassali explains that, “I am representing my brand called Nassali wear a multi-cultural clothing brand. My husband connected me to Plitzs New York fashion week; they interviewed me, loved my work and selected me.”

She gives a bit of her background, “I was born 24-years ago to Mustafa Lukwago and Janat Nabbanja of Kyebando, Nansana in Wakiso district. I am married to Anthony McDonald. We live in St. Louis Missouri, USA where I am doing my fashion business.”
