"Stop lamenting, resign because NRM has its real owners,"Mao advises Anite

The Democratic Party (DP) president general Norbert Mao has advised Evelyn Anite the minister of state for Investment and Privatisation Investment to resign and join the Democratic Party.

On Monday, Anite claimed that a group of mafia in government wanted her dead because she had insisted on transparency in the liquidation of Uganda Telecom Limited.

Mao said under those circumstances, Anite is better off in DP.

“My message to the Hon. Evelyn Anite is 'please resign, you are not a soldier. Nobody can stop you from resigning. Resign and join the Democratic Party because crying will not stop the so called mafia from getting  to you,'" he said.

He said that since Anite is not a historical member of NRM, she will keep on lamenting.

"People who fought in the NRA bush war don't lament. It's [Rebecca] Kadaga who laments about the members of mafia because she is not a member of the bush war link. Prof Gilbert Bukenya [former Vice President] laments because he is not a member of the bush war link," he said.

He noted that National Resistance movement (NRM) has its owners which imply that the country is for those who fought regardless of whether they support the regime or not.

“Now she has also discovered that NRM has its owners. We have been speaking about mafia and state capture. Fortunately the truth has arrived at the door step of Hon Evelyn Anite," he said.

Mao said in 2017, Ugandans were harassed and humiliated as their Constitution was being amended to remove the presidential age limit so Anite should stop crying because she did not sympathise with the people of Uganda.
