Farouk Miya joins Turkish side Kanyaspor

Uganda Cranes forward Farouk Miya has crossed to Kanyaspor Kulubu in the Turkish Super League.

Miya who has been plying his trade at HNK Gorica in Croatia joined the Turkish Premier League Club on a three- year deal.

The 21- year old forward was part of the Uganda Cranes team that was eliminated on the round of 16 by Senegal in the African Nations Cup in Egypt where he featured in all the four games for the East African country.

“I admired the stadium and facilities. As soon as I stepped into the club, I realized what a great community it was. I signed for three years here today. During this period, I want to make a great contribution to Konyaspor with my performance,” Miya is quoted by his new club’s website on his first interview.

Prior to his time at HNK Gorica, Miya has played at Standard Liege and was later loaned to Royal Excel Mouscron and Sabail in Azerbaijan.

At his new Turkish club, the forward will be donning jersey 21.
