Prince Kassim Nakibinge, the titular head of Muslims in Uganda has urged security agencies to divert all their resources to the noble goal of ensuring that all Ugandans live in peace and harmony.
“Otherwise, this situation is getting out of hand, many Ugandans are living in fear, and you just wonder why human beings should cause misery to fellow human beings, who should save this country Uganda?” he asked.
While addressing Muslims during the celebration of Eid al Adhuha at his home in Kibuli, Nakibinge implored the Muslim community to pray for the country noting there is increasing cases of violence, murders, kidnaps and unlawful arrest country wide.
“We pray and seek Allah’s intervention that we may have peace and tranquility, there are several cases wherever I listen to news both print and electronic ,there are different cases of murder,” he said.
He reminded the security agencies that their constitutional obligation is to maintain law and order therefore they should hasten to the people’s calls.
“What defeats my understanding is why a human being should commit such crimes to fellow human beings, we are all creatures of God and we should respect each other so that we can have peace within ourselves, “he noted.
He appealed to all the security agencies in this country to rise up and ensure peace and harmony in the country.
He thanked the Chief Justice Bart Katureebe for having instituted the commission of inquiry into the allegations of corruption in the judiciary.
“It is very timely because it will be very unfortunate if Ugandans lose confidence in the judiciary, we thank you for having come to the rescue of Ugandans, let’s find out the truth, “he said.
