Three residents of Buloba in Wakiso district are nursing wounds after a group of Machete robbers stormed their house on Tuesday morning.

The suspects who are yet to be identified vanished with Shs 4 million plus household items among other things.

The victims have been identified as Charles Kibuuka Mukisa, his wife Immaculate Nankya and their gate man were taken by surprise today morning after unsuspected Machete thugs invaded their home in Buloba, Wakiso district off Mityana road.

"The robbers found us sleeping. I only woke up when they entered my bedroom. They were holding Machetes. They beat, cut and threatened to kill us if I did not give them money," said Charles Kibuuka, the head of the home.

The thugs started by applying chloroform to the gateman before they broke into the house.

Fortunately, Kibuuka narrowly and successfully escaped and ran to the nearby police station located about 100 metres away to seek for help.

Unfortunately nothing was done by police.

The victims were rushed to Mengo hospital where they are receiving treatment.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango, confirmed the attack adding that they got the information late.

"Yes it is true we are aware of the incident and out teams have been deployed to carry on further investigations. Our teams tried to apprehend the culprits, but unfortunately reached late because they got the information late too," Onyango said.

Onyango asked the residents to be vigilant and report any suspicious persons to avoid similar occurrence in future.

"We would like to appeal to Ugandans to always be vigilant. Let them support us by reporting any unusual persons in society. This will help us curb similar crimes," he said.
