Ssemata wants second rematch against Golola after Saturday loss

By D’zyre Derekford Mugumisa

Moses Golola on Saturday night beat Umar Semata by technical knockout in the much-anticipated rematch between Uganda’s kickboxing top dogs which took place at Freedom City.

Golola started slow on the night, giving his multitudes of fans in the auditorium the scares in Round 1, but recovered well to take the advantage in Round 2 and complete the job in Round 3 when he beat his conqueror from the last fight the two faced each other in.

The motor-mouth Golola moved to place what appeared to be all his hopes in the punch on return to the ring in Round 2, visibly going all-out for the knockout.

Having kissed the canvas twice, Semata finally threw in the towel to hand victory to Golola, sending the Freedom City Auditorium into a frenzy.

Hopes for a third fight between the two will not be far off the mark, with Semata suggesting that there will be a 3rd game to determine the ultimate winner, now that the fighters stand at a victory each.

Semata post-fight alleged that there was foul-play on the part of Golola, stating to the media, "after slipping in the ring and receiving a knee to the head from my opponent whilst I was down, I was unable to continue and the win was awarded to Golola Moses in the third round but the fight was supposed to be canceled.

He added, "But this now makes it one win each. I am now looking forward to the rematch, where I will win the third and deciding battle Insha Allah."

Of course, Golola was bragging post-fight on the other hand.

“I had told you that Semata cannot manage me. I am Moses Golola of Uganda. I crush and kill. After all, he is not a Ugandan. He stays and lives (sic) in Thailand,” Golola stated.

We're yet to hear from promoters Abtex and Balam Barugahara on the possibility of a second rematch.
