Mbabazi must be behind Bobi Wine, but still no one can beat Museveni- Mirundi

Museveni’s presidential advisor on media issues and propagandist, Joseph Tamale Mirundi claims that People Power founder Bobi Wine could be working under the wings of former Prime Minister and presidential aspirant, John Patrick Amama Mbabazi.

Mirundi made the allegations while appearing on his weekly show on NBS TV Tuesday. According to Mirundi, Bobi Wine’s ability to jump over ‘political traps’ and his ‘impressive’ moves recently can only be attributed to Mbabazi, no one else.

“Bobi Wine has someone calculating moves for him and that must be Mbabazi. If we are in football, he is in semi-finals. He jumped out of the traps, money traps, and party traps. Now the political landscape has changed,’ Mirundi said.

He, however, added that even if Bobi Wine has shaken the political boat and is the next big thing to scare President Museveni, the latter can never be beaten once he chooses to attend the nominations.

“Once u see Museveni picking presidential nomination papers, he has won. This is because if he loses, he risks his future and past. Museveni can not be defeated once he picks papers because he has evaluated and assessed,” he said.

On whether Museveni can be defeated by a unified opposition, Mirundi said no chance.

“The problem in Uganda is not opposition unity, even if you are united he will beat you. People are looking for people with ideas. When I see Bobi and Mugisha, I will slaughter my cow. Museveni needs someone to handover. He will not handover to a hostile group f Besigye and his ilk,” he said.

“A powerful president can not be succeeded by an equally powerful person. To succeed a powerful leader u must be politically impotent,” he added.

Mirundi also ruled out a coalition between Bobi Wine and Kizza Besigye, urging that the two men are like ‘milk and salt’ and can’t be put in the same place.

“If Bobi Wine joins Besigye, he will have killed his political career.”
