Government has with immediate effect directed the embattled Pastor Aloysius Bugingo of the House of Prayer Ministry to stop attacking his wife Teddy Bugingo.
In the Tuesday Parliamentary sitting, two government ministers Dr. Chris Baryomunsi and Rev. Father Simon Lokodo told legislators that government is concerned with the loose talk of the Pastor Bugingo in addition to disclosing that investigations have commenced into the legality of his church.
Kampala Woman MP Nabilah Naggayi Ssempala was the first to raise a matter of National importance on the floor of parliament chaired by the deputy Speaker Jacob Oulanyah.
Naggayi said that in spite of the freedom of speech in this country, Bugingo has continued to misuse the church pulpit by demeaning and embarrassing his embattled official wife Teddy Bugingo.
Her statement received support from a number of both male and female legislators that castigated the behaviour of the man of God.
Baryomunsi and Lokodo said government has with immediate effect banned the controversial pastor from his offensive communication against his official wife Teddy Bugingo.
The two ministers has also disclosed that an investigation into the legality of Pastor Bugingo’s Church has has started while the Uganda Communications Commission is studying the video clips in which Bugingo is alleged top have attacked his wife.
Lokodo also advised Bugingo’s congregation to re-evaluate their presence at the church.
He disclosed that next week he intends to table the bill that will regulate the operations of the Pentecostal churches in the country.
