VIDEO: Fresh Kid’s dad releases tune dubbed mazike (gorillas)

Paul Mutabazi alias Fresh Daddy, the father of infant singer Patrick Ssenyonjo alias fresh Kid, has hit the studio to record his first single.

Fresh Daddy’s song that runs on a beat from Kenyan singer Nyanshinki’s Free song, is dubbed mazike, to mean gorillas which is lately used as a term to refer to ‘much money’ in Shs50,000 notes.

In the song, Fresh Daddy praises the effect of money on life, saying that the world is only a good place when you have money. He also takes time to promote his home area Luweero.

In an interview with NBS TV, Fresh Daddy said he doesn’t want to take on the look of the normal hiphop artistes who are splashy and coloured with flamboyance.

“I am a father; I don’t want to look like a thug or give my self strange names. Fresh Daddy is to mean something new. But, I would not mind to join the music industry if there is a possibility marched by my talent,” Fresh Daddy said.

When asked which of the artistes he admires and wants to emulate, Fresh Daddy said, he is inspired by artistes; Jose Chameleone and David Lutalo.

“I like Chameleone (Jose), I like him so much and he has never gone down in his music. Him and David Lutalo are the most powerful artistes I know,” Fresh Daddy said.

He also said he is not in music to compete with his infant son, but only doing music for fun.

“I am just doing this for fun, in case I get supported, you never know it would be a great thing. But I have hope my life will change through music. I am not competing with anyone, this is normal and I don’t want to upset anyone.”

Indeed, true to the song, in his second verse, Fresh Daddy raps as thus;

“Mutabazi Paul kambakube hit, babawe ne receipt, Dj Kateke ku repeat, no one compete.”
