Uganda has not been included by the continent’s football governing body, CAF on Wednesday’s training schedule following their sit down strike, the Nile Post has learnt.

On Tuesday, Cranes players refused to train as per the program saying they are demanding for bonuses worth  $6,000  equivalent to Shs22 million for the win against Democratic Republic of Congo and draw against Zimbabwe in the group stages.

However, according to the schedule released by CAF on Wednesday, Uganda was not included for training.

The schedule released to the media indicated that only  Algeria, Guinea Bissau and Senegal are to train but not cranes on Wednesday evening.

It awaits to be seen what will follow because the team still has time to sort the issue and proceed with the training that will kick off at around 8pm Ugandan time.

In a statement released on Wednesday morning, FUFA said they don’t owe any money to Cranes players.

“FUFA wishes to affirm that matters of the rights and obligations of the members of the Uganda Cranes at the AFCON 2019 inclusive of the allowances and bonuses of the team were discussed and agreed upon by the team and were put into a document called the Code of Conduct,”FUFA said.

“Every member of the team signed the Code of Conduct before being allowed into the camp.”

The football governing body said they had paid $420 for the Camp in Uganda (14 days), $5,100 for the Foreign Camp (34 days ending 30th June 2019),$4,000 for the Winning Bonus of the DR Congo match and  $2,000  for the Draw against Zimbabwe

“Far and beyond the Code of Conduct, FUFA has also paid extra $2,780 to each player for camp morale and $30o for the International friendly match against Ivory Coast,” FUFA said.

“As of 2nd July 2019, each player has received up to $14,600 (App 55m UGX) already with more daily allowances and winning bonuses awaiting to be earned and paid on time.”

The football governing body said there currently nothing owing to the players as per the code of conduct they signed adding that more than two billion shillings has been paid to them.

This comes only hours before Uganda plays their round of 16 game against Senegal on Friday.
