KCCA FC optimistic they will make a killing out of newly promoted youngsters

StarTimes Uganda Premier League champions, KCCA FC are optimistic they will make a killing out of the five youngsters promoted to the senior team.

In 2017, the Lugogo based side announced the promotion of six youngsters to the senior team including Julius Poloto, Allan Okello, Hebert Achai, Peter Magambo, and Mustapha Kizza and these have proved to be a force to reckon with in the team.

Speaking during the promotion of another set of youngsters, KCCA FC tactician Mike Mutebi said he optimistic the young blood will give a good account of themselves in the senior team.

“We can keep close attention to their performance to see how they fare. They have grown up with a winning mentality right from the junior league and that is why they are promoted to the senior team,”Mutebi said on Tuesday.

KCCA FC gaffer Mike Mutebi is optimistic the new youngsters to the senior team will be worth it.

He hopes that the winning mentality adopted from the junior league will be kept by the boys as they ply their trade for the senior Kasasiro boys team.

Mutebi said he would have loved to take with him the newly promoted youngsters to Kigali where the senior team is going for the CECAFA –Kagame cup but said they will preparing for the senior six exams.

Allan Okello, the yardstick

Since the promotion of six youngsters two years ago, Allan Okello has proved to be the best among them all

With Allan Okello in Mutebi’s team, the gaffer has felt content and it is not amazing that he once said the youngster is a special and exceptional talent better than former Kasasiro boys midfielder Jackson Mayanja.

Because of his brilliance, KCCA FC is expected to bag over five billion shillings from his sale if his transfer to Swiss side FC Zurich materializes, following trials that he underwent in May.

Speaking about the newly promoted youngsters, Mutebi said just like for Okello and other youngsters who have been successful, the new blood will be given responsibility at the big stage.

“When you see that they are good players, you should give them responsibility at the big stage. I have trust in these youngsters,”Mutebi said at Lugogo on Tuesday.

Mutebi boasted that his team has not flashed any cash to buy them but noted they are excellent players with an identity of the team and are going to flourish at Lugogo.
