NRM top body grants Museveni life presidency card

Kyadondo East legislator, singer and people power pressure group founder Robert Kyagulanyi Ssentamu alias Bobi Wine has vowed to uproot the three-decade regime of President Museveni in 2021 or even before.

Bobi Wine, who himself has already intimated intentions to stand for the presidency in the 2021 general elections, made the statements while addressing mourners at the vigil of his staunch supporter Golooba Ssuna Batumidawo at Kamwokya on Friday.

The singer cum politician, said his belief in electoral democracy is paramount and he is certain his mobilisation will upset Museveni finally in an election.

“We believe he will go in 2021. We believe in democracy and elections. Let us believe and act towards it. We can even take him off even before that date,” Bobi Wine said amidst ululation from a handful of mourners.

“We are in war to free our selves. Museveni will not see his mistakes even if he had all the time; we have to free ourselves from him and the time is now. We should start acting towards it,” he said.

Bobi Wine called upon youth to join hands and dismiss Museveni’s regime in all ways, through using social media and anything available to them. He however cautioned that they do so in the perimeters of the law.

“The people we are fighting are old, tired and few. We can upset them. But first, we need to operate in a way that doesn’t make us victims in the end. We should represent the Uganda we want and avoid the things we condemn ourselves,” he said.

“If you want to express your anger, put off the people power cap, if you want to involve in obscenity, remove the people power cap. People will misunderstand our agenda. We don’t want to give them that benefit,” he added.

President Museveni has trounced all time opposition aspirant Dr Kizza Besigye in elections, that the latter has since maintained the former is indefatigable when it comes to elections he has personally organised.

Besigye on other hand believes Museveni can only be upset through other means and not elections.
