AFCON 2019:Desabre warns players to be wary of a “good” Zimbabwe ahead of encounter

Uganda Cranes coach Sebastien Desabre has warned his players against laxity as they play Zimbabwe in their second game of the Afcon 2019 tournament.

Uganda beat DRC 2-0 in their first group A game whereas Zimbabwe lost one nil to hosts Egypt and both teams are facing off on Wednesday

Speaking during the pre-match press conference on Tuesday, the French international warned players of a good Zimbabwe team.

“We have to forget about the first game and focus on the next game against Zimbabwe because it is important in our plan to go past the group stages,” Desabre said.

"We won the first game but we were not perfect therefore we need to correct our mistakes ahead of the Zimbabwe game.”

Cranes captain Denis Onyango warned his fellow players that the team's ultimate goal is progress to the group stages.

“We are playing a very good side in Zimbabwe .Personally, l know 90 percent of the players and they are very good players but we need focus on winning.”

Uganda will be aiming at bagging maximum points to brighten the East African nation's chances of playing at the next stage of Africa's most prestigious tournament.

The game will be played at 8PM at the Cairo International Stadium.

Uganda is top of group A on 3 points, the same as hosts Egypt in second position but the latter has an inferior goal difference after tipping Zimbabwe one nil in their opening game.
