Kato Lubwama: "People Power is full of failures, will not be strong in 2021 [video]"

Rubaga South Member of Parliament Kato Lubwama Paul has warned that political pressure group, People Power's popularity is going down and fast that by 2021, it will be at its weakest.

While appearing on NBS TV popular segment, Akatebe, yesterday evening, Lubwama said that many people who joined People Power did so due to peer pressure and some of its leaders are political failures with no influence.

"By the time we reach 2021, People power will have weakened and some will have withdrawn because many people joined it due to peer pressure. They didn't have the feeling at heart but they only wanted to be seen in those red berets,"Lubwama said in part.

"Even the politicians who went to lead them are the frustrated lot who have failed everywhere. Take an example of Mukaku [Lubega] who is loitering everywhere," He added.

Lubwama said that People Power was infiltrated by hooligans who want to rub shoulders with Kyadondo legislator Robert Kyagulanyi alias Bobi Wine and that this is a major weaknesses.

He said that people don't love Bobi Wine because he is so intelligent but because they simply want change yet the gentlemen have failed them.

He said: "People don't love Bobi Wine because he is so intelligent. They are only looking for change and since the gentlemen have failed them, they have decided to try their chances with a gangster. They will dump him as well in case they realise that he can't deliver the change they want."

Asked whether he has represented the people of Rubaga South like he ought to, Lubwama said that depending on what he told them, he has fulfilled each and every promise.

"Yes, depending on what I told them that we shall make Rubaga South a company where everyone has a share of 1%, I have fulfilled. I am also a share holder in Rubaga with just 1%. This is what we collect and make our SACCOs. Our problem is economical and that's why we have made a number of SACCOs," Lubwama said.

He said that he has already won the upcoming elections in 2021 by a huge magnitude and that he will only go back to thank the voters and not to campaign.

" I won the elections a long time ago. Every where I go, they just say the winner is here. The hearts of the voters have already voted for me and we are not going to campaign. We are only going to thank our people," He said in part.

On the 2021 Presidential election

Kato Lubwama said that President Museveni is still here and politicians should not tell people otherwise.

He said that all institutions are controlled by the president and there is no way anyone else is going to be announced as president a part from Museveni.

"Let not lie Ugandans, Museveni is not going anywhere. The Electoral Commission is his, he prepares the elections, who elected Byamukama? (EC Boss), who pays him?, Who has the biggest number of MPs in Parliament?, Who in NRM can say no to what Museveni has said? Let's not lie Ugandans."
