Charles Malinga, the director of currency at Bank of Uganda will appear before the Anti-Corruption Court soon to answer charges related to the illegal consignment that was shipped into Uganda in April. In fact, he could appear today.
Sources close to the investigation told The Nile Post that Malinga’s file had been forwarded to the Directorate of Public Prosecution for further perusal.
Malinga is a brother to Bukedea Woman MP, Anita Among.
Sources have told The Nile Post that Malinga could be added to the charge sheet of two other officials, Francis Kakeeto, 36 and Fred Vito Wanyama, 42 who were charged last week.
The two were charged with abuse of office and corruption.
Prosecution alleges that the duo corruptly neglected to perform the said duty when they failed to refute and report the inclusion of unauthorised cargo on a plane fully chartered by Bank of Uganda.
They are supposed to come back to court today, June 25.
