AFCON 2019: Desabre replicates team that beat the Elephants as he names Uganda’s starting XI DRC

Uganda Cranes tactician Sebastien Desabre has named his starting team against Democratic Republic of Congo in the teams’ opening game in the 209 Afcon finals.

The team named by the French tactician has not changed from the team that beat Ivory Coast’s The Elephants in an international friendly over a week ago in Abu Dhabi.

With captain and Mamelodi Sundowns’ Denis Onyango in between the sticks, Bevis Mugabi(right back), Godfrey Walusimbi(left back) Hassan Wasswa  and Murushid Jjuuko( both central defence) will be shielding him as they play in the defence.

Faruku Miya, Mike Azira and Khalid Aucho will man the midfield and act as the shock-absorber whereas Emma Okwi and Patrick Kaddu will lead the hunt for goals in a game to be played at the Cairo International Stadium later today.
