VIDEO: Museveni declines to commission incomplete Soroti-Moroto road
President Museveni over the weekend declined to commission the Soroti - Moroto road at the last hour after learning that the construction work is only 75% complete.
A section of political leaders in Teso sub region and the Ministry of works had wanted the President to commission this road during his working tour of the region but when he saw the state in which it is in, he declined.

On Sunday, the president spent the greatest part of the day in Katakwi district carrying out different activities where he was expected to commission the upgraded multi billion road from Soroti to Moroto.

However after inspection, the president learnt that the road is yet to be fully completed and when he arrived at the venue where the commissioning ceremony had been organised at Orungo corner in Usuk sub county, Museveni said he will commission the road when the construction is complete.
He encouraged locals to use this road to transform their lives by fighting poverty through trade.
Mark Ssali the spokesperson of UNRA revealed that only 75% of the work has been completed and theĀ full completion of the road is expected at the end this year.
