Mao: How can Museveni give medals to Bamugemereire's 'tormentors'?

DP party president Nobert Mao has accused  president Museveni of awarding the wrong people with the medals during the Heroes Day celebrations over the weekend.

While addressing the media at the party headquarters, Mao stated Dr Andrew Kayiira deserves more medals  than some people who have received them.

Kayiira was a DP member and leader of Uganda Freedom Movement.

Mao said he was shocked that officers who tormented Justice Catherine Bamugemereire.

"I am sure that all land grabbers are celebrating because those who blocked Justice Catherine Bamugemereire were being given medals,"he said.

Mao noted the he has witnessed many people receiving medals without outstanding reason.

"Soon president Museveni is going to give medals to the chief executive officers of all companies," he said.

He said Uganda Police is not above  the law to continue violating and distracting opposition rallies.

"I advice and warn  Police that their actions violate human rights,"he added.

Mao said the contribution of the former KCCA director Jennifer Musisi to the development of Kampala created more enmity between her that the president.

"Unfortunately the president came out and denied her publicly. Now you understand the person you are dealing with," he said.
