Equator Seeds rubbish allegations of supplying fake seeds
BENSON ONGOM
Equator Seeds Limited have responded to allegations and concern by the general public about the quality of seeds they supplied under the Northern Uganda Social Action Fund (NUSAF) II.
The seeds were supplied in eastern and northern Uganda.
The company's marketing manager Okol Walter said the reports are not true because their seeds go through a quality test, three times before they are supplied.
Okol also refuted the allegation that they inflate the costs of the seed.
On the question of procurement, Okol said the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM) is entirely responsible for the selection criteria but said farmers have the final say on who they want to supply them with seeds.
Some people have accused Equator Seeds Limited of supplying poor quality seeds and inflating their costs but the company insisted they carry out quality checks before the seeds are supplied.
