Martha Kay, Mufti’s daughter face arrest over 'inappropriate' pictures, videos

Social media entertainer Martha Kemi Kagimba alias Martha Kay and Shawula Kasule a daughter to Supreme Mufti Sheik Sulaiman Kasule Ndilangwa, face arrest over their leaked explicit pictures.

On Friday last week, social media was awash with inappropriate photos said to be of Martha Kay just a few days after Shawula Kasule's had also leaked to the public on social media.

The distributor of the photos in both cases is yet to be identified but sources close to Martha Kay revealed to Nile Post that Martha was a victim of revenge pornography.

Now the chairperson of the Pornography Control Committee, Dr Annette Kezaabu revealed yesterday evening that the two will have to face arrest since there are no other suspects in both cases so far.

"Our committee will meet on Wednesday (tomorrow) and thereafter work with police to cause their arrest. In these two cases, we have no other suspects apart from the two girls themselves that are appearing in the photos naked. They will have to come before the committee and explain how their photos ended up in the public," she said.

In a phone interview with the Nile Post, Kezaabu said that she really hopes that both Martha and Shawula will cooperate with the committee and Police because she has personally tried to get in touch with them but their known phone numbers were off.

" I hope that they will cooperate because I have been trying to get in touch with the girls but all their numbers are off hence trying to cause arrest using Police," She told Nile Post.

The Nile Post tried to call on Martha's number in order to prove Kezaabu's claim, but our numerous calls went unanswered despite the number being on.

Asked to take us through the success of the Pornography committee's investigations since the arrest of socialite Judith Heard, Kezaabu said that Judith Heard has been through a lot as a woman and therefore the case dragged.

She says that they had a backlog of cases to handle as a committee when they came in, but the law could not be applied to those who seem to be in wrong before her committee was set up.

Kezaabu also told Nile Post that most cases of such nature are usually revenge pornography and the reason for the arrest of the girls is to help in investigations of who leaked the photos on social media.

Revenge pornography is the distribution of sexually explicit images or video of individuals without their permission. The sexually explicit images or video may be made by a partner of an intimate relationship with the knowledge and consent of the subject, or it may be made without his or her knowledge.

Our efforts to reach Father Lokodo for a comment on the same issue went futile as his known number couldn't be reached by the time of compiling this report.

If found guilty, the publisher of the nude photographs and/videos will be charged with offensive communication under the Computer Misuse Act of 2010 while both girls who appear in the nude photos and/videos will be charged with pornography. This comes with a fine of Shs10m or imprisonment not exceeding 10 years or both if convicted.
