Like many rural areas across the country that face network problems which affects easy communications, the situation has not been any different at Namaganga village in Busedde sub county in Jinja district.
However, after the launch of a 3G network mast in the area courtesy of Uganda Communications Commission (UCC) in partnership with telecom giants MTN Uganda, things could become better.
Thembo revealed that promoting rural areas to accessible network across the country is part of their agenda under the broadband policy by 2020 where 22 broadband masts have so far been constructed.
Ronald Zakumumpa the senior legal officer MTN Uganda said this broadband mast covers a radius of about 50Km which helps improve network coverage in several remote areas.
He also noted that other telecom service providers can be able to use the same mast under hire arrangement.
Area local leaders and residents could not hide their joy since they have been experiencing poor network which they say has been unreliable.
