Health experts have warned government to put up Ebola screening spots at different points in Namugongo to avoid the possibility of an Ebola outbreak.

These argue that, with pilgrims flocking in from different parts of the world, including the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) which is hit by the Ebola epidemic, the country is in jeopardy if no medical solutions are brought for avoiding an Ebola situation.

The president of Uganda Medical Association, Dr Ekwaro Obuku called for more effort at Namugongo shrines where a number of pilgrims are gathering for martyrs’ day celebrations

“We encourage the ministry to put up a screening spot at Namugongo, we know Namugongo now is a going to have a big crowd and they are coming all the way from DRC as well,” he said.
