Over 8,000 Children in 160 schools across the country are set to benefit from the new education programme dubbed Binace for Children Special Impact Education Project Uganda.
The $ 200,000 project will see the development partners from China providing breakfast, lunch, scholastic materials and pads to all the girls in the 160 schools
Even when government is providing free education to all the Children in Uganda Primary Education (UPE) and Uganda Secondary education (USE), majority of the children in rural schools continue to perform poorly as parents tend to ignore their responsibility.
This is the situation that has compelled development Partners from China to collaborate with the Safe Future Uganda a non-government organisation to provide breakfast, lunch, scholastic materials, solar panels and pads to the female child in the selected 160 schools across the country.
The Intention of the project is to help and improve the performance of education in rural schools.
Launching the project, the second deputy Prime Minister Kirunda Kivejinja warned the suppliers against supplying poor quality supplies as it will frustrate the good efforts of the development partners.
Kivejinja also warned teachers against demonstrating for the increased salaries.
Majority of the schools which will benefit from this project are from Buganda and Busoga.
