Gyan named in Ghana’s 29-man provisional squad after 24 hours retirement

Ghanaian and Black Stars all time top scorer Gyan Asamoah has been named in Ghana’s 29 provisional squad hours after announcing retirement from the national team.

His announcement came after being dropped as Ghana national team captain by head coach Kwesi Appiah who instead opted for Andre Ayew as the new team Skipper ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations due to take place in Egypt.

The 34 year old’s decision to retire shocked the nation but he has now announced that he is making himself available for squad selection following the Ghanaian President’s request.
