Gor Mahia FC also commonly known as K'Ogalo have been named 2018 - 19 Kenya Premier League champions for the third time in a row to retain the trophy for good.

With two more games to spare, Gor Mahia has been on Wednesday anounced champions after a 1 : 1 draw against spirited Vihiga FC at the Kenyatta stadium - Machakos to secure the only point needed to claim their record 18th tittle.

Vihiga FC's Amos Kagadi scored in the 56th minute to cancel out defender Charles Momanyi's header that went in the back of the net on the 13th minute of the game.

The victory  was decided over following a goalless draw between 2nd placed Bandari FC and Mathare FC which meant K'Ogalo's lead at the top could not tally.

The defending champions played over 54 games this season at both local and continental levels and such experiences motivated them to put up quality performances throughout the season.

Gor is home to a number of Ugandan footballers including striker Erisa Ssekisambu, left back Shafik Batambuze and midfielder Hashim Sempala.
