Uganda hails good relationship with Israel

The Israel government is committed to strengthening ties with the Uganda.

The assurance was given during the Jerusalem Prayer Breakfast in Kampala presided over by the First Lady Janet Kataha Museveni.

The prayer breakfast attracted Jews and Christians to pray for peace in the Middle East specifically Jerusalem.

The first lady he first lady said the two countries have got a good relationship and Uganda has benefited a lot from it.

"We thank God for the long beneficial relationship between the state of Israel and Uganda. As a nation we have indeed benefited from various areas of cooperation," she said.

Every year Uganda sends over 200 students to the desert country for agriculture training among other things.

The deputy Israel ambassador to Kenya, David Eyal, said the relationship between Uganda and Israel is getting stronger;.

He said Israel has a lot to share with Uganda. He said Uganda sends the biggest number of students from the whole of East Africa for agriculture studies.

"You know it’s not easy being in the Middle East a small country surrounded by enemies and terrorist organisations that want to destroy us. They don’t want us there," Eyal said.

He urged Ugandans to visit Israel because there is a lot to learn from the desert state.
