House of Prayer Ministries' Pastor Bugingo files for divorce
House of Prayer Ministries International (HPMI) senior lead pastor, Aloysius Bugingo has filed for divorce from his wife, Teddy Naluswa.
The embattled pastor's marriage has been making headlines for all wrong reasons in the past few weeks with Pastor Bugingo alleging that his wife has been subjecting him to mistreatment and embarrassment even in the presence of church members, family, friends and their children.

In his petition through his lawyers from Ruhinda Advocates and Solicitors, Bugingo (the petitioner) noted that they have always been counseled jointly with the wife (respondent) by both elders and friends but all was in vain as the intended results were not achieved.
He also noted out four particulars including an incident on 10th August 2015 when he (Bugingo) presented an agreement of purchase of the church land to his wife who instead threw the papers in his face in the presence of their children and that the wife has always been in constant communication with Pastor Bugingo's known rivals (enemies of the church)
He says that this cruel conduct from his wife was intentional, malicious and intended to inflict on him mental suffering.
''Therefore, your humble petitioner prays that this honourable court may be pleased to issue; A decree nisi to dissolve the marriage between your petitioner (Bugingo) and the respondent (His wife).'' - the petition reads in part.
The wife (Naluswa) has also appeared on different media platforms over the past few weeks saying that his estranged husband stopped going home about three years ago. According to Pastor Bugingo, he says that it's true that he stopped going home due to marital problems in form of domestic violence and threats which escalated between year of 2015 and 2019 in form of life threatening acts, forcing him to leave their matrimonial home in Kitende, Wakiso District.
The couple have four children inculding a four year old son called Isaac Miracle Bugingo.
The couple has been married since 20th December 2003 when they exchanged vows at Victory Christian Centre, Ndeeba in Kampala.
On Saturday last week, Naluswa visited Pastor Robert Kayanja's Rubaga Miracle Centre where she was prayed for to overcome her marriage problems.
Bugingo would later apologise to his followers for hurting them by ''washing his family's dirty linen in public'' during a Sunday service at his church.
In early 2017, Pastor Bugingo was also under spotlight for reportedly burning a Bible copy which he referred to as ''deceptive'' and edited.
He has for long been at logger heads with a number of senior pastors around town, including Bishop Joseph Sserwadda of the Victory Christian Life Church in Ndeeba where he came from to start his own church. He has since attracted a myriad of followers.
