VAR: Ssenyonyi has been playing with jersey of team he wants to be transferred to inside

Just the other day, People Power team signed a new player, Joel Ssenyonyi at an undisclosed fee and gave him shirt number 1.

While unveiling him, the manager said this prolific, dazzling and versatile player will be deployed in midfield as a box to box player. To make clearances, tackles, and properly distribute the ball increase chances at goal.

“He is an accomplished, brilliant player, and devoted to the game,” manager Bobi said.

On his part, the player said he was excited to join a team now in the champions league and he had come to win ‘trophies’ for the team. He said the fans should be ready for goals.

“I survived being sold to the other team by my parents. Right now I would be donning the yellow jersey and regretting,” Joel Ssenyonyi said in regards to the team coached by Manager Yoweri.

The player and manager went ahead to sign contracts and nothing was said about his weekly wages, but we can confirm he is not the highest paid player in the game yet. Other sources claim he actually took a pay cut to join the team. Anyway, he was officially given the team's jersey and pictures were taken …pwacha pwacha pwacha…

Meanwhile, as we tried using the VAR to justify if this specific player was sent off rightly while featuring for team NTV, the zoom in gave us a very shocking result.

The specific player before being sent off, had been issuing signals of ‘come and get me” to Bobi’s team, on certain days featuring for the NTV team while putting on a jersey of Bobi’s team underneath the NTV jersey.

Recently, the player waved to supporters after a home game, a signal that he was not returning for the next season. However, he did not leave the fans guessing long, he signed transfer forms just days later to join a team whose manager had been tight lipped about chasing for the player’s signature.

Meanwhile one of the defenders of Yoweri’s team (Opondo) had been accusing Ssenyonyi of playing with two jerseys- the one of people power inside.

“He has been playing for NTV but with interest in Bobi’s team. His intention was that the NRM team doesn’t win a sixth consecutive title. So he hid under the guise professionalism to play syndicate with the other team, no wonder he had their jersey underneath,” Opondo lamented to FUFA (Followers in Uganda & Friends Around)

The defensive midfielder for the NRM (Wanyama), also lamented that this specific player has been playing with two jerseys. He said that it was now great to see the player had taken off the jersey on top to reveal what has been inside.

“I remember the day he led a demo against OTT and in the evening had to anchor and report news where the same demo was the lead story. Weird. Now that Joel has undressed, I guess size won't matter. See you in the arena.”

Unfortunately, since the VAR is not supposed to see these kind of things, we only zoomed in to be sure. That said, the player was sent off rightly but the good thing he has joined another team and we wish him luck.
