“I will not sign any new players” - Mutebi

Having won the Startimes Uganda Premier league this season, KCCA FC head coach Mike Mutebi may be planning on his next competitions including the champions league and next league season in advance.

While addressing the press at the startimes stadium in Lugogo,the gaffer said as he plans for his team, he won’t sign any new players this season but only promote from the KCCA FC junior team.

He also affirmed that he only signs players who will help in grooming the young ones at the club and only a few who have been key in KCCA FC'S performance will have their contracts extended.

"We are not signing any new players, we are only promoting our kids from the development side like its our strategy and maybe extending contracts to the players we have who we believe can still serve us well because all players in Uganda, not saying they are not good enough but when you compare my players and those from other clubs to bring them here, they are all average,"

As they face the already relegated Nyamityobora fc on Wednesday, the Mutebi says he will assemble his best team to finish the season on a high note even though he already has the title under wraps.

“Am going to Nyamityobora for a win,I will assemble my best 11 and we must win, I want to finish the season as a champion with maximum points.” He said

The last time the two teams faced off, KCCA FC thrashed Nyamityobora 6-1 at the startimes stadium, Lugogo.

KCCA FC are top of the league table with 60 points while Nyamityobora is 15th with 17 points.
