President Museveni has urged opposition and NRM politicians to desist from personal fights and shift focus on developing their areas.
The president, who was speaking to residents of Bukedea district, hailed independent legislator Anita Among for developing her constituency, and asked fellow politicians to emulate her to change the status quo.
Museveni warned against using radio stations to propagate false information; with intention of downplaying government achievements.
Museveni spent the whole of Saturday in Bukedea district launching a number of development projects spearheaded by Among, whom he described as a good legislator.
The projects launched by the president include a science laboratory at Bukedea Comprehensive School named Yoweri Museveni Science Laboratory, laying a foundation stone for Bukedea teaching hospital and opening of a new radio station in area among other projects.
Museveni, who educated the residents of Bukedea on how they can fight the escalating poverty, explained why he worked with MP Anita Among despite not being an NRM legislator.
The independent opposition FDC-leaning legislator was quoted recently describing President Museveni as her special friend who is always willing to help her every time she is in need.
The president has over the years accused media owners of giving airtime to politicians whom he says tell lies.
The President’s warning comes at a time when former FDC President and Presidential candidate Rtd Dr. Kiiza Besigye continues to be blocked by Police from appearing on a number of radio stations in the country, citing orders from above.
