English International squash player tracks gorillas in Bwindi in a 'dream come true' experience

British International squash player, Tom Ford saw his childhood dreams come true this week, tracking gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

The twenty-five-year-old is currently on a visit to Uganda which he started last week on Tuesday. He is a talented sportsman who plays Squash, a game that is little known in the country.

He was invited by the Uganda Squash Rackers Association having competed with over 60 competitors from Zambia, Swaziland, Nigeria, Egypt among others before emerging winner.

He used his visit to Uganda, with support from Fernando Tours and Uganda Tourism Board to visit Sipi Falls and fulfill his childhood dream of getting up close with gorillas at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

'' My visit is unforgettable, I have travelled a lot and done so many spectacular things but this is definitely top of them. It's difficult to put it in words,'' Tom Ford told journalists on Thursday while at Uganda Tourism Board offices.

Ms Lilly Ajarova, the CEO of Uganda Tourism Board told reporters that Uganda Tourism Board is trying to involve everyone in tourism and it's important to have international sports men and women on board.

''We have a lot of young people who are sports men and women and we want to involve everyone.''

George Kasekende, the Captain of Squash Kampala Club the acting Squash headquarters in Uganda said that the sport is still little known in the country despite having many competitors. He says having international squash players in the country will promote the sport among locals.

Tom ford is a professional squash player who represents England. He reached a career high world ranking of World No. 60 in December, 2015.
